Our Mission at Tennis Energy School

At Tennis Energy School, we’re redefining what it means to coach. Our mission is to give real, focused support to every individual player — because we believe great performance comes from genuine attention, smart planning, and honest feedback.

Unlike many coaches who limit their involvement to on-court time, we go far beyond. We invest in your journey with full effort, both on and off the court, without upselling or wasting your time. Every player we work with gets our full energy, tailored advice, and a clear path to progress.

We ask tough questions others avoid:

🧐 Is your coach truly guiding you?
🤔 Are you doing the right amount of training and competing?

💸 Are you spending money on unnecessary lessons or clinics?

We’re here to optimize your schedule, reduce your costs, and help you replace extra lessons or random training with smart, efficient planning. From court conditioning to tournament scheduling, we’ll show you what you can do on your own and where real coaching makes a difference.

Whether you’re a high school player or pushing for high performance, we design custom programs based on more than just your level — we look at your body, your movement, your mindset, your habits, and your unique personality. We guide you in:

✅ Technical + tactical development

✅ Physical conditioning + smart recovery

✅ Mental toughness + emotional balance

✅ Off-court habits that influence on-court results

We believe every player deserves a coach who actually cares.

Not just someone collecting a lesson fee — but someone committed to their growth, success, and long-term confidence.

Our Mission

To create smarter, more strategic junior tennis development — rooted in performance, built on mental strength, and designed for long-term success.

We meet every player where they are — and build the path to where they’re meant to go.

Our Story

We’ve lived the tennis journey from every angle — competing in ITF and Tennis Europe tournaments, leading NCAA Division I teams, and coaching in top-tier programs across the U.S.

Now as full-time professionals and consultants for clubs and academies, we’ve trained hundreds of young athletes and seen the same thing again and again:

Hard-working, talented players getting stuck — not from lack of effort, but from lack of direction.

So we created Tennis Energy —

A system that meets each athlete where they are and helps them break through to where they’re meant to be.

What Makes Us Different

  • We’re not guessing — we’ve lived every level of this game.

  • No copy-paste advice. Every plan is built from scratch for your player.

  • We care about real results, not social media hype.

  • We combine high-performance strategy with mental, emotional, and lifestyle tools that actually move the needle.

Who We Help

  • Players who feel stuck or underperforming — and are ready for their breakthrough.

  • Parents who want to do it right — without wasting money or burning out their kid.

  • Coaches who want next-level tools to guide talented juniors toward real success.

Meet the Founders

Mikhail Fomenkov is the co-founder at Tennis Energy. A former international competitor and NCAA athlete. He currently serves as Director of Tennis at Birchwood Racquet Club, where he leads one of the most successful junior and adult programs in the region.

Mikhail has trained nationally ranked juniors, developed full club programming from the ground up, and consulted for facilities looking to improve performance and profitability. His ability to identify player potential and build precise development plans has made him a trusted figure among parents, players, and tennis directors alike.

From his early success on court to his leadership off it, Mikhail brings not just coaching expertise — but vision, strategy, and results. His mission is simple: to give serious junior players a clear path forward and help them reach the level they’re truly capable of.

Kseniia Shikanova is the founder and performance coach with a deep focus on sport psychology and mental development. A former ITF and Tennis Europe player, and NCAA Division I athlete, she combines years of competitive experience with a strong academic foundation. Kseniia holds a master’s-level degree and has completed specialized coursework in sport psychology, where she now conducts independent research on the mental side of junior athlete development.

Her work focuses on helping players strengthen their emotional control, focus under pressure, and confidence in competition. Beyond player support, Kseniia also works closely with parents, equipping them with tools and understanding to better support their child’s mental and emotional journey through sport.
